Jamnagar (Halar) was established about 474 yrs. ago in 1540 A.D., ( in 1596(VS), in the Shrawan month, Shukla Paksh, Saptami Tithi on Wednesday, 1 minute and 38 Seconds after sunrise.) The Rulers of this state were of “Jadeja” dynasty. They also own the special title of “JAM”. Jam Ravalji was the founder of Jamnagar. Halar was renamed as Nawanagar state & then Jamnagar. In the ancient time it was recognized as “Paris of Saurashtra” & “Chhoti Kashi”. Now, in this Modern time it has many Epithetical Names viz, Tie & Dye city; Brass City; Oil city etc.

Popularity of Nawanagar State was in all directions due to their Ruler’s Policy, Good Governance, and Loyality & Devotion to their people. The Name & Fame of the Nawanagar state has attract us to select the extension of our group as “Nawanagar” in JSG (Jain Social Group) movement.

The JSG movement was started in 1965 and is being organized at international level under guideline of JSGIF (Jain Social Groups International Fedration) Since 1980.
It covers more than 400 + groups spread across the world.
